hi guys m.o.t due end of month on mig,tyres look a bit low,trouble is last owner fitted 4 Goodyear Eagle F 1s no expense spared . this pattern no longer available,can any of you Omega Pro,s recomend tried and tested rubber.Im prepared to spend a decent amount of hard earned :-/.but not rip off Dick Turpin wore a mask Kwik Fit prices..Need 4..

Dunlop sport maxx
Bridgestone potenza, bit noisy but good grip and stability

Others talk highly of Kumho ku31 for the money.
Toyo proxy, bit noisy going by reviews not on omega

Avoids
Falken 912 and to lesser extent 452
Pirelli p zero apparently.     Both makes tram line and wonder badly.

Pirelli p6000 are ok ish, but should be far better given the price IMO.

Loved the P7's I had before but have fitted accelera alpha this time and cant really tell the difference apart from half the price of the P7. Were great in the snow too, very predicatable with the breakaway point and easily controled when they did let go (much fun was had!!).

I've been looking for 4 x 225/55/16 for a time and Nexen 641 seem to be a good buy although I have no experience of these except from online tyre reviews any comments from members. Don't like KwiK Fit but they are offering Michelin Primacy for a good price at the moment.

I popped some Nexen CP641 on my old tractor (which Squealey now has), which were also 225/55/16.

I was impressed with them, given the price, but did have a tendency to drastically 'let go' on known 'difficult' roundabouts (ie, those 4 around M40 Jnc10) in *very* heavy rain.

I always said that I would never be likely to fit them to the MV6 though

I was happy with them on my old prefacelift 2.5TD Elite, except for the sudden loss of grip issue in heavy rain on already slippery roundabouts (generally, similar to most budget tyres). But my TD only pushed out around 150bhp....

I probably would NOT fit them to my 3.0 chipped MV6 (proven by the fact I fitted something else to that yesterday).

Hmmmmm...have to disagree about the Falken 912's. I've put 4 on mine 3000 miles ago and have had no issues whatsoever.I actually prefer them to the Dunlops they replaced because they're quieter. Just my experience.

new pattern for eagle F1 (asymmetric) have better test results than the older one.. however pricey..and cant see in smaller wheel sizes then 17" in lists..

new pattern for eagle F1 (asymmetric) have better test results than the older one.. however pricey..and cant see in smaller wheel sizes then 17" in lists..

I really liked the GY F1 GSD3's but, as you say, no longer available.

The F1 assymetrics are, thus far, an admirable replacement and, to be honest, much better in snow conditions than the GD3's.

Ultimately, its a balance between what you want and what you can afford.....

What did you fit then Mr TB? Did you manage to find some 9000 or 9090's?

I could not find any SP90x0's anywhere in my size 

Initial impressions of what I did go for are favourable - considering it was absolutely lashing it down as I left WIM on Friday. Gave it 20 miles of sedate driving to 'bed them in', then started giving it some large.

The jury is still out, so I will not publically mention my choice currently (downside of being an admin (amongst others), is that the sheep tend to follow - irrespective of whether a view is 'mine' or 'official OOF'), but so far, given the first 150m, I'm delighted.




150m...  ...I get 15000m from a set of 4...   ...that means I've used 1% of them in 1 day
