Flood in car again
« on: 27 January 2011, 09:26:29 »

Once again I have water in the car.I always keep an eye on the scuttle drain and after this last problem the drain area was empty.  How often can you check such a thing. I did once suggest on here it might be an idea to remove the plug  permanently at the base of the drain area but this didnt go down very well, Has anybody found a way around this design disaster?

Sounds to me like it may not be the scuttle drain causing the problem, if you are 100% certain it was clear :-?

Other options are: Sunroof Drains (if you have one), rubber seals on doors/boot, leaking windscreen and even a hole in the floor has been seen in the past.

Just a case of getting inside with a torch and checking everywhere while someone hoses it down for you

Hi, Have you actually put water in the scuttle area and witnessed how fast it runs away?. Thinking being that it might look clear, but may be blocked out of view  :y :y
