oil check warning
« on: 05 February 2011, 12:59:37 »

Just got the miggy back after having a new cylinder head fitted. Running well. But when I start the car I get check oil level coming up, although I know there is plenty of oil. Is there something that could be reset or what is there a fault with a gauge?

not everything in life has a reset button.  ::) ::) ::)
The level sensor sits in the back of the sump & the wiring passes up through the back of the ally casting via a plug. I'd suggest the wiring has been damaged.

edit ......
just noticed that you're not firing on 6  ;) ;) ;).
I've never worked on a 4 pot but I'd think the level sensor is similar. It'll be damaged wiring or a plug not reconnected.

If you've had some one else do the work, take it back & get them to put right what they've obviously damaged or not reconnected.  :y
