They connect via a ball & socket don't they? Have you engaged them properly? You can always wind them down via the Allen socket drive as shown on top of the light.  ::)

MUST have something to do with the motors as they were fine before. How do I know that the ball is in the socket correctly....hard to tell for sure while you're locking the motor assembly in to place.

It is a few years since I swapped my headlights but my recollection is that I took the rubber cap off the dipped beam and tipped the mirror down so that the socket was close to the hole for the motor. I was then able to engage the ball before pushing the motor in to place.

Lights are back almost to normal..still get the field of vision error but at least they light the road and not the stars now.

One thing interests me though.

How come, with the engine running I can reach in through main beam hole and move the lense around so freely.

Whats to stop the lense moving and bouncing around as we're driving along and changing the distance and direction of the lights..

Er there is a safety issue with hids, I wouldn't be poking around in there with ignition on.

But the plastic adjusters may be busted and need replacing with the aluminium ones available on here. But that's not your issue with the field of vision warning.

What/Where are said plastic adjusters.

Do you mean the white plastic things on the end of the steel rods at the top of the lights..the ones that can be adjusted with an allen key ?

It's part of that mechanism yes. Alen key adjuster to toothed wheel that goes inside the light and adjusts the beam. The bit that brakes is inside the light.
