Nearly finished, but stuck again.
« on: 06 February 2011, 11:43:21 »

Just a couple of quickies chaps.

Firstly, the wiring looms cover and it's metal bracket that runs along the near side cam cover, (facelift V6). Where does this bolt into? (picture below with my finger pointing to the offending item);

Secondly I have a spare bracket, and I don't know where it goes?  :-?

I'm 'assuming' that it goes around the fuel inlet & fuel return pipes, (that connect to the the inlet trumpet), but I can't figure out what it actually bolts to? (pic below);

And lastly, (hopefully), is the bracket on the front of the engine, by the engine hoist bracket, that somehow clamps the air-con pipe. I haven't got a clue how to put that bit back together?  :-[

Your very stuck, V6 CDX-er  :y

The cable tray bolts onto the upper inlet plenum (the one that says Ecotec).

Not sure about the hose support  :-/ I have always left mine clinging on to the hose so it was obvious when I bolted it back together....

I can't see the A/C hose clamp in your photo. Are you refering to the one that has to be undone to get the alternator belt off?

Thank you both.

Maybe I'm having a bit of a blond moment, but I just couldn't figure out how the wiring loom bracket attatched to the plenum  :-/ Nope. Thinking about it I still cant figure it out  :-[ Will all become obvious when I start to put it back together?

It will become clear as you put it together... The cable tray bracket bolts onto the front of the plenum just in front of the ICV :y As said, just visible in the photo

As said, the cable tray bolts to the plenum.

The clamp is to support the two coolant pipes that go to the aux heater pump and also bolts to the plenum (rear left).

The aircon pipe p clip bolts to themetal bracket in the picture.

Thank you all  :y Figured it out now. Perhaps I should have gone to SpecSavers?

Still can't figure out what the spare bracket is for though, or where it attatches?

Anyone got any tips on what to do with that bracket for the air-con pipe?

I took it off to aid changing the oil filter, (although not really needed to), and to give it a clean.

One thing that is missing and frequently gets forgotten is a plastic spacer that clips around the brake vacuum pipe and the aircon pipe at the rear of the plenum. If the clip isn't fitted the vacuum pipe will rub and chaff through and the brake pedal will feel spongy as well as the MPG will drop.
