Drivers Electric Window Switch
« on: 04 February 2011, 11:42:16 »

Hi guys, me again. Can anyone tell me how to change the Drivers Electric Window Switch as mine is broken (the button itself actually snapped and now i have no operation of the window).
Specifically i would like to know if the wiring for it is soldered or if it is a plug/socket arrangement and how to get the old unit out without damage to the door?
Thanks guys.

Also would it be advisable to fit a Front and Rear 4 Button type instead of the Front only 2 Button type as i might in future try to fit rear electric windows in place of the current manual winders if it would work as i assume the wiring is already there???

Why oh why was there never a V8 Omega????
Such a missed oppurtunity.
Look forward to the Cadillac ATS & ATS-V. Maybe a re-badged one will replace the Miggy as a RWD runner?

On the facelift the whole unit (mirror control, front & rear windows) comes out as one piece.

It can be just popped out, no need to remove door card, but its a bloody tight fit. It can be levered out at the edges, but be careful, there is a clip which is damn stiff.

Loom plug is underneath, so if you can source a replacement from a breakers its just plug new one in and off you go  :y

Loom not present.........you`ll need the following
Driver`s door loom + obviously switch panel
Both rear door looms
Rear window switches
Rear window motors
30A maxi fuse for top R/H corner of cabin fusebox
