Genuine thermostat
« on: 14 February 2011, 14:30:14 »

Does anyone know who manufactures the genuine thermostat for a 2,6 Omega?
I bought a thermostat from eurocar parts and it wont seal to the block or the transfer pipe. I managed to get the old transfer pipe out (with great difficulty), are there any tips on putting the new one in when I get it? or do I just work from the thermostat back to the rad one piece at a time.

There are two suppliers one of whom is Wahler (cant recall the other one).

Do be aware that you may need shorter bolts for one of the types.

You will also need new O ring seals for the transfer pipe.

I need a new transfer pipe anyway Mark, the lug that connects to the block snapped off. Where is the best place for parts?

The transfer pipe is a GM only item, about a tenner and comes with new O rings
