Not happy with garage (LPG expert needed)
« on: 18 February 2011, 17:38:40 »

Just got car back from correcting their previous errors.
Coolant level warning was on after they had it last time. They have fixed it (supposedly) they said it was just bad connections. Now my lpg is not working. When it switches to gas it bleeps and flashes as if empty. I have over half a tank. A lot of the wiring is under the header tank so I think he has f***ed something. It is a stag 300 system if anybody know what wiring is in that area? He hasn't even put the header tank on properly.grrrr so pi**ed off with them.

worth checking the connectors to the vaporiser? There should be nothing wired to the coolant header tank expect standard loom for MID warning...

I think it is the vaporiser that is mounted on the wing under the header tank, so good place to start. He has probably borrowed some wiring from it F**kwit ::)

Where are you mate?

Have you got the software and lead for the LPG? If so, plug in the laptop and see what it says ;)

As a wild guess I would say that he's managed to unplug the Vaporiser Temperature sensor ;) It's probably not flashing because it's empty, it's flashing because it hasn't reached the correct parameters to switch over :y

Finally, you can force the Stag kit to start on LPG BUT it will not switch between LPG/Petrol unless you switch the ignition off and back on again... Not recommended ;)

You are the expert I was hoping for Lazydocker :y
Nice concise answer. I did think about forcing the lpg start but not tried it yet.
I have got the software and the connection, just couldn't be bothered tonight. I will have a look tomorrow. Firstly plug it in then check connections and refit the expansion tank properly. I will then go back and demand a partial refund for the hassle.
Cheers for a reassuring answer :y

Before doing anything I'd probably plug the laptop in to check what's going on... I'd almost put money on the Vaporiser Temperature sensor not reading properly :y

I did have one of them fail on mine a while back but depends what vaporiser you have ;)

[edit]Just re-read your post and that's what you're intending to do :-[[/edit]

Connected to laptop this morning and got lpg pressure too low. Popped off the header tank which was holding on for dear life and seen immediately that he had managed to disconnect the pressure sensor.
Plugged it back in, put header tank on correctly and all is well again.
Calls himself a mechanic, he couldn't put a nut in a monkeys mouth  ;D
I think I will invoice the garage for £30+vat that equates to 1 hour of my time to diagnose and repairs his errors.
