Now I know a Manual 3.2 with a LSD is always going to be a nice tool for a bit of fun but does this ring true?

Yeah the seller seems to be bullshitting a little, but it does look like quite a nice example. The facelift plod spec seems to be a lot better than pre-facelift. First thing I'd do is ditch the armchairs for some proper MV6 seats, although the Elite suffers that issue too (although they're leather).

If I buy another meeg in future as a runaround I'm rather tempted by a 3.2 ex-plod, as the manual box is a must for me. Either that or stick with a 3.0 MV6.

That bloke always says the same stuff in his adds, notice there is no mileage for the car , I think 3.2 manuals, but doubt very much the car cost TVP 36K?, and there are 3.2 manual MV6 's out there, there was one on autotrader not that long ago. However, I fail to see that the advertised 3.2 is better than an MV6, as your talking about interior here

Granted it doesn't seem a bad example but my point is that most police cars are base models with sports suspension and a higher spec alternator, they have been driven hard (often from cold) and when they are decomisioned are full of holes, chopped off wiring and lacking in trim.

I'd love one for a bit of trackday fun but I certainly wouldn't buy one expecting it to be a stunning, top of the range 'flagship' vehicle which is what the advert is aiming to say.

6995 "retail value" for a 3.2 with tatty interior (not MV6 sports seats), 120K miles and grommets in the roof keeping the water out?

He's going to be disappointed when that finishes if those are his expectations.

Would make a good track car perhaps or a fixer-upper if it went for peanuts but he's having a laugh trying to dress it up as something it's never been.

Brand new, it would have cost TVP in the region of £17k (less VAT) not the standard retail price thats quoted.   99.999% of car manufacturers supply at the contracted rate as per Home Office Approved lists and is waaaay below standard retail.

Whilst not all ex-police vehicles are thrashed to within an inch of their lives, I certainly would not be rushing out to buy one.
