Estate self leveling rear springs
« on: 24 February 2011, 04:35:49 »

What is the diference between self leveling rear springs and normal rear springs ?

And what would be the result of fitting normal rear springs to a car with self leveling rear suspension ?

From what I understand S/L springs are slightly softer and give a bit more of a bouncey ride which helps with the air adjustable shock absorbers.

Several people including Chrisgixer have retained S/L shocks but fitted standard springs and have reported a better ride and handling.

Suppose really it is partly what the car is used for and weights carried around/budget you are prepared to spend /and avialabilty of correct parts as springs seem to be one of those VX minefields with more permatations than the football pools.

Have a read through KYB website as they list all springs ..I recently bought S/L springs for saloon and although original n/s was broken so ride was poor, the transformation to now is quite staggering in quality.

I had quick look on the KYB site at the weekend but i didn't see any springs listed for self leveling on the estate.
