P1555 error code
« on: 02 April 2011, 19:25:58 »

Hi,

I have been trying to resolve a problem on my 2.2 Omega.  I keep getting p1555 error code regarding the MAF and throttle position sensor.  So far I have taken the throttle housing off and cleaned and replaced with a new gasket. I have also changed the MAF with a genuine VDO/Siemens one, replaced the air filter and the four jubilee clips and checked for leaks on the air intake system but the problem still comes back.
Would be gratefull if there were any suggestions, Thanks

Before you did all the above work, did you get the codes cleared.  Are you sure you still have the same problem that's continuing or the codes still there from pre-work that you've done?

Any symtoms that you can describe that you're having?

Hi,

I had them cleared after each stage of the work.  The car does not seem to run with any problems.

If you don't mind me asking, did you get a garage or have you a basic code reader you're using to clear the codes ?.
Just trying to work out why the codes are still there at the moment.  If there's no problems with the way the car runs, seems strange that the code remains.

Hi,

I have used vauxcheck from gendan to read the codes and clear them.  After clearing the fault the software then re-checks the ECU for the fault then tells you that it has been deleted.  After cleaning the throttle housing I cleared the fault then drove the car. The fault came back so the next step was to change all the jubilee clips and check for leaks, cleared fault then it came back when driving the car etc.

The genuine MAF you changed, was that a new one or 2nd hand one?.

To be honest, I'm not sure where to go with this one and surprised no one else on here as thought to suggest something, as normally get one or two trying to help out, they must be a sleep this time  ::)  ;D .

I know someone who had a problem like this on their 2.2, I'll ask them what it turned out to be.

Sorry can't be any more help at the moment  :-/
