Bodywork
« on: 09 April 2011, 00:34:21 »

Hi,

The bodywork on my omega is in need of some TLC, can someone give me an idea how much it would cost to have the following bits done, and can you recommend anyone in Essex ?

I have some rust coming through on both arches which needs sorting.

Both front and rear bumpers need respraying and the bonnet to, then the rest of the car could do with a good machine polish.

Oh and the alloys could do with a refurb.

Just trying to workout if it is worth doing or not, the rest of the car is mint, the interior is spotless and it has been mechanically well maintained over it's life.

Thanks

Matt

I used them for my Estate 2 years ago and can't recommend them enough.
Give 'em a ring and see what they say!

The Wheel and Tyre place round the corner from them would probably know where to get your wheels done too.

worth a phone call, perhaps?

Ball park figures here mate... I recon you'll be looking at the best part of £1000 to sort the arches, bumpers and bonnet.  Wheels would come in at about £250 for a proper refurb.

I'm sure people will say you can get it done cheaper than this, but in my experience, bodywork is one of those things where you do get what you pay for!  :y

I will get a few quotes, I have used Chelmsford Accident repair before for some bodywork repairs and they do a great job, but as you say you get what you pay for and they aint cheap.

The wheel arches aren't that bad at the mo, there is just a slight bubble on the underside of the arches. It hasn't come through on the face of the panel yet.

The rear bumper has had a bit of bad repair at some point  which could do with repainting and the front bumper and bonnet have a bad case of gravel rash.

To be honest I am prepared to chuck £500 at it (not including wheels) to get it done any more than that then it isnt worth it as plan to sell it next year anyway.

Thanks for the advice
