Lambda sensor location

Hi all

Trying to get to the problem I have with emmision light on. Changed MAF meter, both coil banks and now need to change the lambda.

Please, where is it in the exhaust and how to change it.

I have the sensor, front one just need to make time to replace it.

Two sensors on each downpipe, one pre-cat, t`other after cat. Is the lambda faulty or are you getting the old chestnut.......0420/0430 codes
Have you done the "pedal trick" to read the codes

Basically plucking at straws :-?
 
When I mentioned my problems on here a few weeks ago I was told it maybe the lambda and after looking into it my problems do seem to point to this.

I know i have spent alot of money already and not got anywhere yet but the car is worth it.

What sort of mileage?

Given the codes, I too would suspect the MAF - was it a known good one that went on?

Not sure I'd be changing lamdas yet, given all the codes together.

What are the symptoms?

Are the engine straps secure?

91000 miles, although it had a replacement engine at 76000, the dealer i bought it off replaced this so i am not sure of the true mileage. This was done 3 years ago and the car has run brill. 12 months ago i had it of the road for 5 months, economic reasons, then when it was back on the road the service light came on. Changed the plugs and it was okay. I was advised to change the coil banks as I have just done.
It also has become thirsty, misfires a little and it runs rich, the emmisions are strong in petrol fumes.

A few months ago the emmision light came on. So the MAF meter was changed. Still a problem.
After asking a few questions on here the lambda was pointed out to me. After reading about these sensors, the problems caused seem relevant.
I am still open to any experienced advice.

Just one thought, for some reason the TC light somtimes comes on and seems to go into safe mode. It is really mind boggling.
