Have you checked all 4 tail light bulbs? (Assuming it's a saloon) or used poor quality bulbs?

Saloons have 4 tail lights, 2 each side, which is the usual reason for the persistence of this msg

Have you recently changed any of the bulbs?  It's quite common for cheap bulbs to put the warning on (and halfords own make bulbs) .

Ring seem to give me grief, esp in cold weather. Oddly, Halfords dirt cheap (on trade) seem to be trouble free for me  :-/
