Another problem (not my fault)
« on: 06 May 2011, 17:43:32 »

A few weeks ago i posted that my mechanic had bust the oil filter canister then charged me £35 extra plus £5 for the part from a scrappy for the priveledge.
Anyway today
Takes the car for a full valet they wet the carpets and seats ONLY (plus the boot mat).
On picking up the bonnet is up and the 80 amp fuse above the battery had been taken out so i asked  why?
The alarm (horn) is going off when the fuse is put back in so obviously a sensor has got wet and this is causing the problem I THINK.
Thing is as you know when the fuse is out Hardly anything works horn, speedo, rev counter, heater/air con, boot release, radio, display etc etc etc.

Does anyone have any idea which sensor/fuse may have got wet/damp ..... remember they only wet the carpets and seats with a sponge and scrubbing brush ..... or failing that does anyone know if i can disable the alarm (horn) so i can put the 80 amp fuse back in and HOW do i disable said alarm

We could try plugging in the "My Naff Code Reader" and see what's setting the alarm off.

That's handy, I've got a media centre to install tomorrow.
Sunday will be fine mate, should even have the apprentice round to assist.
