Top Gear Review   Omega
« on: 29 January 2008, 11:05:32 »

Was just thinking not sure if there ever was one back when they came out , But you know how sometime they re-review older cars and compare them to there newer counterparts. Well do you think if we where to contract them and offer some of our pre min and facelift omegas  that they would do a review on them. I seem to recall that Clackson liked them.

What do you guys think :question

they never reviewed it in the new style show.

But when they said they would stop making it, clarkson said it was the second best car to be in the back of, after an S-Class.

I think he liked sitting the back, but not driving them.

Recently the only time i've seen an omega on Top Gear is when they did radio controlled racing - with full sized cars!  :)

James and Richard used a Granada and an Omega to whizz round a quarry. Then a 15yr old girl raced them with her old BMW 5 series - whooped their asses! It all looked fun but was sad when they crashed them into a caravan!  :'(

I've got a clip of a different kind of omega tho.. a lotus carlton! I downloaded a 60MB version a few years ago. But it's available on youtube too!  :y

It's from 2000 ish and Tiff Needell does a review, after driving a T-reg Vectra! Think it might have been for Top gear but probably more likely for 5th gear or a Swedish programme as there's subtitles on the clip!

every time i watch it i dream...... 8-)

As for sitting in the back of my meega, well i haven't done it very often. and never while it's been driven!  ;)

Vectra Elite Estate doing good post-Omega service but still not as nice to sit in.

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!

So the Police & safety groups where outraged where they, is that why my local force took delivery of one said Lotus Carlton in the early nineties. I know, because i saw it leave the station with two Traffic's sat in the front, i followed them before we got onto the A38, then they floored it & i was a speck in their mirror  :(
