Police spec MV6
« on: 29 January 2008, 21:07:41 »

Does anyone know what the police have done to their MV6's engine wise?

I'm trying to work out roughly what power to expect, and also where to go and what to do to gain more.

Any idea's or options welcome. Just trying to think of ways to release some ponies, but i'd like to know where i'm starting.

Anyone used forced induction with success? Obviously compression ratio will be taken into account.

Thanks.

The Police did nothing to there engines.
You could try a remap of the ECU

Most forces do nothing to engine.  The cats appear different, but probably not for performance reasons...

Best you can do is chip the 3.0, currently 3.2's can't be chipped.

Plod don't even bother chipping theirs!

i heard GMP chipped a few of theirs, more to remove flat spots i think
rather than increase performance after officers complained that the
3.0 was a lacking in certain situation's
i'd be happy with any omega 3.0 /3.2 i'am kicking myself for not buying one now

thats exactly it, i'm not a harsh driver and it'll get serviced when its supposed to, and generally looked after, it's got relatively low mileage and full history and i hope i dont lose too much when selling it, its looking like the 3.0s hold their value (a bit) more than the smaller ones

wanted to keep it for its running life, but swmbo is thinking house plans, and there's gonna be a time when i need to downsize the engine and lose the luxuries to make way for necessities
