Ignition barrel lock replacement problem
« on: 13 June 2011, 13:16:17 »

Hi, I'm requesting some advice swapping out a (jamming) ignition lock barrel on my 1996 2.0 omega.
I fitted a replacement however the engine now won't start I suspect the immobiliser is preventing this.
The new lock seems identical to the original and none of the keys (original & new) have electronics in them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Little rectangular/cuboid dark-coloured lump inside the plastic housing.  Swap from original into new key.  This is the 'chip' that the immobiliser needs to recognise.
