Sticking ignition

Hi everyone I have a 2000 Facelift 2.0 GLS Saloon with a stiff ignition barrell. When I try to start the car the key won't turn unless I jigglle it a bit then it turns and starts... Can anyone help

There's a guide on how to deal with it.

Do yourself a massive favour and sort the problem BEFORE it jams up completely, something that makes both fixing it and moving the car (if necessary) very difficult.

Some years ago we had this problem and called out the AA, they put a mole grip on it and just forced it :-/ :-/ but it worked and for a couple of years swmbo carried a mole grip in the car..... :D :D :D
