Hello chaps i'm a newby and could do with a bit of help, i've got a Yreg 2.2cdx and yesterday it started to spit and fart while i was taking wife to work. I drove it home and found the rocker box gasget was u/s and oil had filled the spark plug holes up. The eml is on and i've drained the oil out of the spark plug holes and replaced the gasket. On start up the car still spits and farts and the eml is still on.. Can anybody help plse

Might need the coil pack replacing. Being soaked in oil doesnt do them any good.

Thanks fella was thinking that but needed to be sure first. Is there a way of testing then??

well i changed the coil pack and it works fine now. Thanks just gotta sort eml light now

If it's a misfire code that was caused by the duff coil pack, and nothing else, then it will become a historic code, and will go off on it's own accord, in the near future

If you're anywhere near me I'll reset it for you.

Thanks James for the offer but after ringing my local Vauxhall dealer to be told its £50 just to plug it in, i got a code reader of e-bay and reset it myself. The code reader only cost £33.00 including p&p so bargin and it works well now.
Just for info the codes that came up where
p0340 cam position sensor no signal
p1700 svs request via can
p0100 mass or volume air flow circuit low input
p0170 rich exhaust
p0353 ignition coil 3 incorrect signal
p0110 intake air temp sensor circuit high voltage
p0302 cylinder 2 misfire detected
p0303 cylinder 3 misfire detected
all these faults are followed by, not present. after fitting the new coil pack and starting the old girl up..

Can anybody plse tell me if i need to worry about these codes??

Clear all the codes, including historic ones, and leave be for a week or so....

If they return then you have a problem .. if they don't .. they were truly historic and of no concern.

Always difficult when you first get a code reader as you don't know what is and isn't "active". Clear them all and start from scratch
