Hi guys ,
I have a 97 Omega 2.5 V6 CD .
It had the head gaskets replaced a few months ago as well as the rocker valve cover gasket.
A few weeks ago I was getting intermittent starting problems .
Twice the AA came out , and both times it started as soon as they got there. They couldn't find anything wrong and their Laptops couldn't access the diagnostics.
When I tried the paperclip check , I got an error 19 , was told it was crank sensor. Which is odd because the crank sensor had been changed whilst the head gasket had been done.
Anyway brought new sensor as soon as payday hit.
Decided to remove old sensor in preparation of it arrival :-)
When I remove the old one , there was a clump of metal shavings on the end. Wiped it clean and checked hole for more looked clear. On a hunch replaced it and tried the car , started on second try. Drove home , went to take wife to the shop and it wouldn't start again. Again paper clip test this time error 89.
Today replaced the old sensor with the new , still the same problem and same error code.
Phoned my cousin , who did all the hard work on the car for me (hi Cuz), was told to check the coil pack to make sure I hadn't dislodged the wire when fitting new sensor , but that was fine . Still unplugged and replugged to make sure.
STILL she wont start , tried paperclip test again , now reading 2 errors, 89(again) and 31.
What can I try next ??
Cheers
