Guys, recent events have led me not to be able to use the car :( Iv had a guy out who could not wire up to the ECU and communicate with it (?)

So the car just turns and does not start. Its had a new ign module and it worked perfectly. Iv had a new recon ecu sent to me along with a new immobiliser unit (the part that goes on to the ign barrel)

The mechanic came out again and still could not connect to it

Im stumped.  The car is just sat there and wasting away and i really miss driving it

Any ideas?

Sorry to say it  but I think you need a mechanic who can diagnose the problem instead of replace parts on a hunch.

Basics first. Is there a spark? Is there fuel pressure? Is fuel being injected?

If that draws a blank, has the ECU got a power supply? is the ECU registering cranking? Is the ECU getting an input from the crank and cam sensors? Has the new ECU been correctly paired with the immobiliser and the key transponders?

ECUs very, very rarely fail. It's almost always something simple which is preventing a car from starting.

Even the ECU on mine which had a butcher job done on it when it was chipped has never missed a beat...  Unfortunately I have a very little trust for mechanics nowadays (too many part swappers who have no clue).. I have even heard of so called mechanics having a car for 6 weeks trying to diagnose a problem which was only diesel in a petrol car...

Ask someone on this forum that has a tech 2 to connect it to the proper diagnostics and find the problem. it could be the crank sensor or the cam sensor that is fuberd causing the non start but untill you read the codes just replacing parts will only deprive your wallet and cause more problems. The Boy is prob closest to you or indeed kevin wood so pm them to see if they can assist.

You also need the chip from inside the key fob, this is what the part around the ignition barrel detects.

Any e.m.l. on? Is it flashing?

I would rather pay an expert on here to come out to see the car than some random guy, Kevin can you come out

The eml light is on, im assuming the eml light is the car with a spanner in it?
