hi, ive joined on this forum just to get somebackground info as im possibly buying an omega soon and would like some help.

unfortunately this omega will be a basis for a cheap drift car as there cheap and plentlyful.

Could i have have some infor on comon faults on the v6 range? ive heard theres an expensive common fault with the coilpack was it?

any help would be great, cheers in advance :)

depends on what v6 2.5/3.0 or 2.6/3.2 all can have starting problem usually c/shaft sensor and leaking cam covers

just generally as im after any v6 that comes up really, it will more than likely be the 2.5 v6. so no major issues or potential headaches?

gearboxes

2.5 can suffer dis pack failure due to water leaking on them due to scuttle joins not sealing cambelt depending on age and maintenance or lack of my 2.5 was good nutil oil cooler gave out but once it was changed ran sweelty again

Generally they are all reliable if they are or were maintained properly. Like any car, if they are poorly maintained they will be unreliable.
I would not change to any other make or type,  have ran them for many years without many problems and so will not change.
Cannot say more than that in their favour...... :y
