Which battery?
« on: 20 July 2011, 16:19:16 »

Hi All,

My battery has finally given up the ghost so I need a new one....  :'(  :'( :'(

At the mo it's got a 75ah 720a Bosch, the closest my local motorfactor has is a 70ah 640a.  Will this be big enough for my 2.5 V6 ?

Ta in advance!! :y

If you've got someone local with a  VX TC or Halfords TC, you will get a good deal from them.  I got over a third off from Halfords on a battery, and VX deals are good also. :y

Sadly No.... The last battery I got from Costco for £55.... but I didn't keep up my Costco membership  :(

Might try one of these online battery dealers who deliver.... Has anyone tried this? Any recommendations?

You could pm andyc -He is a parts manager at a vauxhall dealers and comes highly recommended. He should give you tradeclub prices if you mention the forum - also will be able to recommend the correct battery.

The last new battery I purchased was for my old diseasel Vectra, I tried a few local motorfactors and Halfords (I have a trade card), the cheapest suppliers turned out to be my local Vauxhall dealer and they gave the longest guarantee...

If you go in with the right attitude they should do you 'trade' over the counter.

As you are in need of a battery, best to get it from Vx on trade, will be much cheaper than most online distributors.  :y

Just remember that the 720a is the cold cranking amps (CCA), the higher the figure the easier the starter will crank the engine so you don`t really want toa lower figure than  than whats already on.

I'd look it up but the Trade club web site is rubbish ATM. No vehicles or parts listed.

However don't let that put you off. Tc is by far the cheapest, reliable, and a 3 year warranty as I recall.
