Airflow problem interior

I have a 98 2.5td almost from new and shes just developed its first fault I cant now change the air direction flow in the car its stuck on demist(screen)when I turn the knob nothing happens, any ideas anyone..cheers!

The controller is operated by vacuum, check the small pipes that run around the bulkhead.....I had this many years ago, when the car came back from Vx the heater did as yours did, I asked the garage if anything they did could have caused the problem, they said no.... ::) ::) ::) I found a melted pipe, it had been displaced and melted against the exhaust?iirc manifold, quick fix.  This was on a 95 pre-face lift car...

Checked all the pipes all are ok and connected what I do remember is before I had the problem when I turned the knob to change the airflow it was quite stiff and sometime when changing there was a thump heard..Is there a relay or switch that might be faulty do you know ?? Thanks ...Chris
