I must say a big thank you to this Forum as the advice and technical sections have been very helpful.
This weekend I have cleaned out the Breathers and Throttle and fitted a new idle air control valve and fitted new rear discs and pads all as show in the technical guides.
I was very surprised about the extent of the breather blockage, the 'long bolt' that connects to three breather tubes in a banjo type fixing that screws into the throttle under the butterfly valve was completely blocked so much that i had to drill it out, it was that solid.
If i had not dropped the bloody thing in the engine bay and took nearly an hour to find it again it would have been a fairly easy job.
But I'm feeling rather smug as all that would have cost me at the dealers,
Next job when it arrives is the Heater Bypass Valve
When I bought my Omega, I knew nothing about them. So when I noticed a huge pool of water under my car one morning, it was the guys on this site who came to my rescue and told me;
A, What the problem was
B, Where to get the part
C, Full instructions on how to fix it.
Replacing the HBV is involved, but fairly straightforward and a relief when it is done.
If you need any clarification or help, just ask me or anyone on here.
