Just driven the ten miles from my local Vx dealer back to the house. I have taken some pictures as Tunnie suggested.
It doesn't look good does it?

Vx have dropped their price for fitting a new oil cooler from £568 to £487. They have discounted the OC to £106 plus VAT .......plus 5 hours for labour.. Better, but still more than I want to pay. They tell me that if the job takes less than five hours they will reduce the labour costs accordingly. Hmmm......and pigs might...... :-/ :-/ :-/

Agreed. Provided I can make a significant saving. Is there anything other than the OC that it can be?

On £487? Bet you can.

Sub £150 for parts, think I paid £120 couple of years ago.

Before the reduction Vx wanted £136 plus VAT for the OC ........and as you so rightly say they make a substantial profit on that. So Parts should be no more than that...Tops.

I reckon its about £150 for parts - you need the oil cooler kit, plus the dowty washers for the coolant bridge, sealant, and some coolant.

Only 'non standard' tools are crowsfoot spanners to undo the oil pipes by filter (Do NOT bend pipes, however tempting it may seem)

What a pain to read such prices  Last week I was quoted 311 eur for the cooler by local Opel dealer  Luckily they are out of stock. But how is it possible that you guys have the coolers and rest of the Europe is out of them?!
