Cambelt invoice.
« on: 16 August 2011, 16:13:56 »

Just picked her up from VX.

The bill makes interesting reading.

Vx water pump...........................£119.00 plus VAT
Vx Cambelt plus tensioner roller...£138.00 plus VAT
Anti-freeze. (quantity 4) ................£18.00 plus VAT

Total £275.00 plus VAT at 20%.....which makes £33O....which is exactly what I paid by credit card.

So Labour is FREE at certain Vx dealers it seems. :y :y :y (Usually £65 plus VAT for each hour)

Fair play to them though. They admitted that they'd made an "error" with their costs. But once they'd (incorrectly ) given me a quote there was no going back. The service manager told me that nobody WILL EVER get a genuine  Vx cambelt and water pump fitted  at this price again. :D :D :D :y

Good result I think.  :y :y :y

They will have made a good profit as they have charged you top dollar for the parts!

Good result and really does show how incompetant most VX dealers are ,although fair play to them by sticking to their quote.

Still think I will let Daz do mine again in future.

Not bad, I'll give you that. But just goes to show the markup and profits they make!

As I'm not experienced enough to do the work myself I can't compete with those sort of prices. However, I still think that having somebody do the work for £330 using genuine Vx parts is not a bad deal... :y They even gave me a Vauxhall Agila 1.2 Club for three days too. It was shite. ;D ;D ;D ;)

I am glad you're happy, but three guys on here would do a better job for a fraction of the price.

As said, it takes at least over night to allow the instant gasket to go off.  ;)
