For goodness sake, leave her alone, turn the stereo up and you won't hear any more noises !   Things will settle down after a few miles, give your mods a chance to bed in.

I must confess the worst thing about my Omega is I can't hear the engine or any noise its making.
I grew up through a progression of cars, and you got to listen for noises like the engine was clattering, the steering was a bit pulling to one side, or the exhaust was blowing, but with this Megga, I can't hear sod all, apart from the stereo !. Its a bit too quiet, I miss being able to hear how hard the engine is working, or if something is clattering, but modern cars tend to be that way, good for 200,00miles then scrap.
Have you ever changed the distributor or Radiator on an original mini?, now that's fun !.
Don't worry, just enjoy the drive,

What do you mean 'original mini' there is only one Mini, evolving little over the years.
 Any modern talk of mine should say BMW. THERE IS ONLY ONE MINI

A funny story. I was living in Greenock, and my sister was going out with a chap who had a Triumph 2000. (Many moons ago) He lived up in the Western Isles, you know a bit far away etc. He had passed his test and all that, and was going to give us a lift up to a "do" in Glasgow Uni. We came to a roundabout in Greenock, and said "turn left", and he did,  Sharp Left !. None of this go round and take the 3rd exit crap, but turn left he did!. This brought some consternation amongst the other drivers until we realised that up in the Highlands they didn't have roundabouts such as down south!.

We survived, she didn't marry him,all good fun!!!

I agree, I am a bit of a perfectionist. But I guess that's better than not maintaining the thing.

Once I've sorted out my niggles (which you ALWAYS get with such major surgery) I'll be a happy chap!

Yes, I have changed the Rad, and the Dizzy, on the original mini. I recall that I found it a bit of a challenge at the time, but granted I was only 16, and it worked, it can't be too bad

yes, plenum off, cambelt off, inlet off, cam covers off, cam sprockets all off.. camshafts out..

People may comment differently, but, I would have to learn and experience a LOT more before I'd consider myself a professional!
