Oil leaking onto heat shield
« on: 07 September 2011, 18:51:04 »

I have oil leaking on to the manifold heat shield on the right
bank,i have looked in the spark plug holes and there is no
oil in there,is it still possible for the camshaft cover gasket
to leak onto the heat shield ,but not inside onto the plugs.

Yep the gasket can be leaking on the outer side onto the manifold rather than leaking towards the inside and into the plug wells.
I have the same problem at the moment. It is on the "to do" list. :y

Drag link (as my MOT man calls it) centre tie bar to the rest of us - is literally a sore point at the moment. I whacked the end of my finger with a lump hammer yesterday while trying to shift it.Now got a sore inflamed finger and the nail is going to come off soon.I love cars me. ::)
Im taking a couple of two legged pullers home from work this morning. Hopefully one of them will be able to pull it off. :-/

Best get that leaking leak sorted fast before it ends up as a great heater.....but do use OEM seals and not aftermarket ones.... :y
