I DETEST DIRECT LINE!
« on: 06 February 2008, 15:44:42 »

Although the claim has been decided in my favour, I called with a couple of quick queries today, and the manner in which I was spoken to is totally unacceptable! They are rude, brash, and VERY unhelpful, despite me being cheerful and courteous.

I have just submitted a formal complaint about their standard of customer service  >:(

When this policy ends, I'm shopping around  >:(

It would have been so much easier just to let the 3rd party pay for my repairs (which she was willing to do)  :'(

Didn't you say the other party was with direct line as well? Even though they're your insurer, they are still paying out, so are treating you as a claimant rather than a customer.

Still a bad show though, they certainly make enough money.

Gave them the old heave oh last year when they upped my premium by £60......Asked them  why do loyal customers have to pay for discounts for new customers, they had no answers to that.
Most insurance co give new customers better deals nowadays.
I'm now with Liverpool Victoria (Frizzell) in another life, and they have given me a good deal so far.

I'm with eCar now....

basically they allow me to have up to 4 vehicles on one policy, and swap around the "active" vehicle at no cost.... it can be done online and takes minutes... notice required is about 1/2 an hour on a practical basis...      I also get breakdown cover/homestart/relay type thing  included in the price, and can have modifications provided they're reported and , if necessary, checked by an engineer....

it includes having the wife on my Policy, (she's a learner) and comes in at £48 a month on a 3.0 Auto Elite Estate.... (with Sintra 3.0V6 & Pug 206 also on policy)  .

AND i only need give them short notice to cancel...

it's a bit more than Direct line, but SOO much more convenient, and it means I don;t have to deal with the Muppets at Direct Line....    been there, done that, bought the tee shirt, own the movie rights....

I'm with churchill the company that say's 'Ooooohhhhhh Yes' and I pay £40 a month fully comp on a 3.0ltr elite. Also if you haven't claimed on your insurance for three years (must be like for like policy) they will match it or beat. I have not had any problems with churchill since I have been with them and thats for 8 eight years!!! The good thing about them is when my policy is up for renewal I wait for the renewal to come through then I check on line and its cheaper (you have to save the quote first so they can look at it), so with that I ring them up and tell them the quote and I get it for the online price. Job's a gooden!!!  :y

Why not apply for a quote and then disclose your conditions before you take out the policy. If the price goes up then you've got them banged to rights.  :y
