Illegal parking.....
« on: 08 February 2008, 14:52:15 »

In spite of the fact that the double yellow line is passing on the outside of the bay (formed by a disused factory entry), cars parked there get done for 'obstructing public footpath'. I wonder what would happen if they disputed it?

looking at the picture, absolutely nothing!

i think the reason the yellows are there is purely because the entry is no longer in use, therefore it should be treated as if its a kerb all the way down, otherwise the yellows would follow the existing kerb and not go accross the disused entry

An ofice I worked at had a car park which was often full, yellow lines outside but a path and grass verge between, we used to park on the grass. This was fine till the council took over parking control ad they started putting tickets on the cars, sad bit was they were office belonging to the council, ticketing people who worked for the counciln tho that they should be exempt from rules just a bit harsh and the path was still useable. :)
