remote locking and audio system (seperate issues)
« on: 10 February 2008, 19:23:56 »

hey
we have two issues with electric on miggy

1) i have replaced batterys on the remote locking unit but the range is still only 3 meters from the back and right in the window anywhere else.
The bloke that sold us the car gave the batterys so maybe they were duff (they were stuck in the leather owners book with masking tape)
He had 1 key to start the car, another to open doors and a zapper without a key. Is it possible ot put the zapper electric in the starting car key unit and just use that? i assume so but just incase since i dont wanna be carrying around 3 chunky keys

2) Just got the car back from having alternator and aux belt replacment and the tape player/radio is not working, as if it isnt recieving any power. I checked the fufses and they are fine. Would you say itsd just a coincidince its broken at the same time as alternator replacment or something else?
Not really intending to keep the cassetee player in so is it fine to put a after market radio in the car?

Incase its relevant its a 94 select 2.5 td.

Thanks
