aftermarket headunit and bc?
« on: 16 March 2008, 13:55:39 »

Hi!

Im Omega owner from Estonia.

I have 2001 2.5DTI Omega with NCDC2015 and GID. I would like to install Pioneer DEH-P9600MP.

I managed to find interface for steering wheel controls but i have not found any interface for my GID...is there any??
Anyway the main problem for me is how to acsess boardcomputer after installing Pioneer, is there any interface or mod for that?

You may have to replace GID with a MID for radio adpater.  Yours will take later style MID (post 1998), but will have to come from indentically equiped (engine/gearbox/headlights/tyres/addon heater/etc) car.

so this is impossible....there were no 2.5dti engine and its 5-speed atm gearbox before 2001 :-[

ncdc2015 sounds pretty good but it does not have mp3 support and most of all sound cant be compared with 9 series pioneer, even with Bose system.

so there is only 2 choices: have very good sound but no bc or have bc and average sound :-/

No, rip out all bose stuff, fit your preferred head unit, replace GID with a MID, replace wiper stalk, do a little bit of wiring.

TB. What about the de-pairing of the 2015 unit?

I know if you do remove it (correctly of someone that will be interested in buying it off you. :)

Oh and the DEH-P9600MP is a lovely unit. I had the DEH-P8600MP in an Omega. Fantastic sound!
