i have just put the battery back on my car and done the code sequence to get the stereo back on. when i press the AS button i dont get a beep and the stereo stays in SAFE mode. anybody got any ideas  :-/

Did you turn the radio on as you pressed the AS button?  You should do this until you hear a bleep.

Did you turn the radio on as you pressed the AS button?  You should do this until you hear a bleep.

To continue.... yes with radio OFF hold AS button in, turn ON radio still holding AS button in; a bleep should soon be heard (every time you unsuccessfully try it takes longer!) then you can enter your Radio Code via buttons 1-4.  All should then be ok.

just been out to car and tried as you suggested.IT WORKED. thanks for that. I read the instructions again after and it turns out im a bit of a numpty. thats what it said in the book. turn on whilst holding AS. not im a numpty.
