HLD Error codes
« on: 25 April 2008, 17:32:30 »

Hi all
Had my car back from the repairers a couple of weeks back,
New bonnet, front bumper and nearside headlamp.
Looks a nice job, however driving in the dark for the first time the other night, the headlamps didn,t seem right.
So I put the cheapo tech 2 on and its come up with four error codes
on the HEADLAMP LEVELING DEVICE.
Can anyone tell me what they mean.

B 2689
B 3444
B 3402

Cheers

Sudgests the level motors are not connected up or there is damage to the wiring

Thanks.
Where are level monitors?
It is the cheap £25 one with the mostly Hungarian software from ebay.
Connects to a laptop via serial port.
Cannot get it to read the autobox though, but still worth the money.
Cheers :)

Its not the one that says Omega Owners on it then for Omega only!

The level motors are on the back of the headlights near the indicator part.

Check the plugs on them are plugged in.

Not unusual to find a load of old codes in the lights. Clear then, and see what returns (alas, cheapo can't exercise light motors to provoke failures).

Thanks
However I think it may have been because the garage didn,t set the manual adjustment right,as the new lamp was pointing far too low.I have now roughly set it myself and cleared the fault codes and I'll see what its like next time I'm driving in the dark.
Cheers
