Difference between CID?
« on: 08 May 2008, 21:46:05 »

Hello
I have a Opel Omega 3,0 2000, and problems with my CID.

When i buy the car it was only a few stripes, but now its completely grey  :(

My CID is mark CS. I have another CID with mark KJ, and i wonder whats the difference?

I have fit my other CID in the car, it works but "SAFE" comes up.
Do i need Tech2 or another CID with CS-mark?

Haven't heard of a 'CS'

Only ones i've seen are 244 393 79 Ident KK, 244 596 49 Ident KJ  which was replaced by 244 393 78 Ident KJ.

It is possible to repair the faulty one with a new screen - have a search on here for the part number.

Unless the replacement CID is in delivery mode you will not be able to use it. Tech II is required for any actions with NCDC20xx / GID and CID

I  will remember it was CS on my CID  :-?

Opel here in Sweden say that CID "CS" 9148316 is on the first Omega 2000, and 2001 they get the other one.

My other CID is in delivery mode when i check with Tech2.
I have access  to Tech2 but not knowledge  :(

Needs pairing with the Head Unit for which you will need the 'Car Pass'. Before pairing you will need to un-pair the original screen.

If you have access to someone with basic soldering skills, you could open up the two units and swap over the LCD display. The "pairing" is in the circuit boards, and not the LCD.

This doesn't require a Tech II.

Remember to put the good LCD in the old CID complete with the old circuit boards, and re-install that in the car.

So its only the LCD as broken and not something in the circuit boards?

Can some one tell how i use Tech2 to chang to/from delivery mode?

For 3-4 months ago i can touch hard one the CID and its work, but now its complete grey.

depair old setup, using Tech2

Diagnostics > year > model > infotainment > NCDC 2011/2013/2015 > Additional Functions > Deactivate antitheft.  Enter car PIN from carpass.

Remove old screen, and replace with new.

Infotainment > Colour Info Display > Programming, and put on correct Code Index for your car (ie, engine size, gearbox, headlights etc).  Use this option to also brand the screen to Opel etc.

Pair them up using similar method, obviously selecting Activate antitheft instead.

May have to go back into Colour Info Display to set colour scheme ('Adjust Contrast')

These are English instructions, obviously should be fairly similar for Sweden.
