Towbar electrics

hi people
i need to fit a towbar to the car would i need a 7 way bypass Relay
because of the light warning system
or could i just wire it in without one and would the light faliure system still work

Do a search on the site, there's loads of info on this subject. You don't need a by-pass relay though, all the connections you need are in a socket behind the trim panel at the back of the boot plus a permanant 12 volt supply for caravan electics. NB if you use the black/yellow brake light wire in the plug you'll need either to short out the relevent connections in the 'relay' base for the trailer brake light check 'relay' that lives either above the driver's feet (preface lift) or behind the glove box (face lift)
