« on: 27 June 2008, 15:37:37 »

hi all

I have looked at past posts about getting the mid to display the date etc when an aftermarket head unit is on, one said cut the red and white wires on the mid end, does this mean i have to remove the mid and if so how do i do that ?

car is facelift 2.6 cd
new stereo is an alpine cde9880r

many thanks

You can cut it car side of the ISO connecter at the back of the radio.  AFAIR

hello again chaps

i cut the red and white wire on the car this afternoon as mentioned above. it had the desired effect and put the date back on the mid display when the stereo was on. a slightly less desired effect was the loss of radio reception. i cut the wire directly behind the stereo.
can you tell me where the wire splits and where its safe to cut the wire to the mid

many thanks

Same wire controls aerial amp.  Cut at mid, or get mid reprogrammed.
