Fitting a Parrot CK3000 Evolution.
« on: 09 September 2008, 17:59:21 »

I've got one of the above BT kits fitted to my 2000 Facelift Elite. Radio is the CCR 2006 Bose factory fitment.
I've wired into the phone breakout above the glovebox using a supplied speaker on the kit loom. Originally I got it working by disconnecting the Trafficmaster loom completely and reconnecting the body loom to the HU. I've just tried reconnecting TM and now the kit won't mute or display the "MESSAGE" prompt when recieving a call.
It only does this when the TM loom is removed.

1, Can I restore the phone muting whilst keeping TM connected ?
2, Can I route phone audio through the stereo speakers instead of using the kit speaker?
TIA
John

should be able to.

in the omegas, I have crappy Nokia CK-7W wired to prewiring socket, along with TM setup.

Downside of this is TM takes priority over phone.

I Rover, I have the phone kit wired in after TM unit, to phone always has priority over TM.

Seem to remember some mention of a pull up/down resistor on the mute line but which and what value I don't recall.

Possibly. Certainly doesn't seem to be required on the gay Nokia kits...

To follow up on this I've just had an email from Autoleads fittings guru Dee Keenan suggesting that as the phone connector is present the HU is "direct audio capable" and advising me of two options to enable muting and phone through the car speakers.
1. 06-102RB & 06-427B
Standard VX phone to nokia lead with telephone relay then nokia to parrot adapter.

2. SOT-109 & 06-100B
Saab/VX phone to parrot adapter and telephone relay.

Aparently both will do the same job.

So it looks like my initial problem is to do with the missing relay for the phone bits, anyone know where it lives on a facelift?
I'll let you all know how I get on when I've got the bits ordered and fitted.

I had a nightmare fitting a parrot kit to a Bose equipped CCR2006  >:(

when we wired it in the amp increased the volume of the telephone kit, the only way we cold get it to work was to run the parrot kit through the Traffic Master wiring, this meant that if you were on the phone you would hear the TM announcements but they would be feint.....

I spoke to audioleads about this and they confirmed that the Bose could cause the increase of volume but confirmed that they did not have a kit that would help, their suggestion was to put an external speaker in  >:(

Yes I spotted you whilst reading the sio forums Jay.
Well I fitted the SOT-109, didn't need the phone relay (nowhere to put one anyway) and still nothing.
Traced the problem to a part wired TM loom which won't allow pass through of mute or phone audio so I removed it and soldered the 4 TM wires into the body loom. Works now but TM is very low volume.
A bit more work required methinks.
