Can someone tell me what the differences are if any  :question the manual does not show any obvious differences.
Next question is what would be a upgrade for the ccr600 if there is one  :y

ccr600 has an amp built in to drive speakers.

ccr800 is identical, but doesn't have the amp - the outputs need to be fed to the seperate Bose amp. The Bose setup is reasonably Plug and plug, but you need to change all speakers, and change the loom to CD Changer.

If you want to here ccr800 in action, call in next time you're passing.

Other 'factory fit' options are CCRT700 (with or without Bose), though doesn't seem possible to get SDVC working in non 1999 cars, and a bitch to fit.  Or NCDR1x00 series, again, with or without Bose.

Other than that, aftermarket.  Personally, I've never found an aftermarket that I think suits the car, so stick with various Bose setups in my 2

None of the Omega factory fits have an input suitable for MP3 players - the aux in is purely mono and fairly lo-fi

This is worth a look, but you will need a shoehorn to make it (or anything else for that matter) fit the Omega

Thats one of the reasons I fitted the Kenwood so I could connect to the cd changer input .
But it started buggering about loosing the display on the dash so I took it out again   and put it back to standard .
the adapter that fits on to the kenwood to enable the dash display and the traffic master starts to get a bit expensive and is a nightmare to get in and out  :-/.
Maybe I should just leave it as it is  :D

I am now having problems with my ccr600 most of the time it is ok but now and again it starts making a noise like someone blowing raspberries  :-[ .
If I  adjusted the balance to just the front speakers it is ok , but try to run all four it is ok for a while then starts again  .
It is on all sources not just the radio .
Does that sound like it could be the amp in the unit playing up when gets warm  :question

LFF64 - if you want to prove its HU before committing to buy one, I can lend you a CCR600 for a couple of weeks (I'm not using it, but don't want to sell it) or give you a CAR400 if you don't use the CD Changer (CAR400 is same as CCR600, but without CD Changer functions)
