i been driving 20 years, lost count how many cars me had, never had a delco in it,me not a car nut take your word there one of the biggest on the planet, :y

Although A popular brand, possibly only just inside the top 10 manufacturers of OEM equipment - far larger in the US than they are in the UK. Not a bad make, and a fairly reliable model - its just never going to set the world alight with its mediocre performance !!

Can`t beat the aftermarket units !!

If you can find one that suits your needs, will fit, and doesn't look like it belongs in a Corsa with 10000W of subs...

TB,

That sounds like a challenge to find you something ? I`m assuming you only ever shop in Halfrauds or Fleabay then? Stop looking at the cheapie Jap stuff and start looking at some real head units

Becker cascade  ?   Hardly flash with boy racer bits, yet has all the toys

http://www.mybecker.com/enUK/CAR+NAVIGATION-Cascade+7944-Overview.html

and if you own an old 60`s classic car, then this wouldn`t look out of place either, and again, has more toys than most China imports.

First one, bit too 'Corsa' for my tastes.

2nd, hmmm, unconvinced.

Anything that can drive the display properly in the dash - Omega stereo mounted quite low, so need to really take eye off road to check display?

Blimey !  A Becker rep will be on your doorstep very soon after you have made a comment like that - they have been trying for years to break into the Pre-Pensioner age group !!

Becker - Corsa ?  Nah!  those two will never come together !!

I find anything that is predominantly display a bit unsuited to the type of cars I drive.

And as I said earlier, displays on stereos in Omega isn't ideal, due to its low location.  I like to try to keep road in field of vision, unlike the baseball cap kids - you know the type, they have the crotch of their jeans around their knees as if they have shat themselves...

LOL !!

But yet you instantly dimiss the latest gadgets and gizmos on the modern "Chav" head units, including Head up Displays that project onto the windscreen in front of you, rather like aircraft do - How does that fit into your argument then?

I've not yet seen one with HUD.  Might be a solution.

Its just stupid animated displays, displays that are too big, and gay blue LEDs that get on my goat.

I agree with the Gay blue displays !!

Kenwood played around with a head up display pod a good few years ago now, and you connected this to the back of the stereo and sat a small pod on top of the dash which projected a few basic numbers in front of you - as Kenwood`s also are one of the most communicative stereos around at the moment that interface with the Vauxhall standard displays and steering controls, it may even be worth trying to track one of the pods down to see if it can be run in conjunction with a Vauxhall display, and not just instead of.

Food for thought for somebody ?   :-?

For me, the elegant simplicity of the factory ones, and the right 'look' for car, added to fact it does what I want it to do, and with the Bose amp, sounds 'good enough' to my tone deaf ears, I'll stick with what I have :)
