What prompted you to visit our forum and are you a member of many other car forums?
Hi martin, An introduction to me huh?
Due to the unprecedented number of Omega customers that have visited me over the years (including plod), virtually every one of them have suggested that I should join the Omega forum to get some work from it, as there are many who need some technical assistance. Apart from the volume of work we receive from the forum, its nice that it is also such a lively and friendly forum with some very enthusiastic members, and its a pleasure to be allowed to join in with you.
Yes, I am also a member of just about every car club and forum that I can find, for the simple reason that in order to remain an expert in what I do, I constantly need to be researching the reasons behind the failures of the many thousands of stereos that arrive here each month. Only that way can we find lasting fixes and advise the manufacturers of any modifications and product recalls. (Our repair centre operates on a slightly different level than most repairers you may come across due to the constant Manufacturer involvement)
For the last 15 years or so, I have predominantly run a car audio and service centre, with a very good technical support dept for the Motor Trade, although our 5,000 square foot showroom in Stevenage that we unfortunately closed 5 years ago enabled us to be regarded as one of the largest independant dealers in the UK!! Decoding and repairs are our strongest points, and over the years we have won many accolades and trophies for our sound quality and loudness installations, with many of them being featured on TV, including the long running feature run years ago on C4`s The Big Breakfast, and a few years ago on Granada Men & Motors. I have also won many trophies with both mine and customer vehicles at the Doncaster Custom show.
I have never actually owned an Omega, (sorry!) although do have a fondness for them (added quickly), but I am a true petrol head, and often change cars frequently - my own Sunday runabouts can range from Ferrari`s and Porsche`s although I have an old faithfull VW Sharan that has been to every corner of the world and still refuses to die, and as I live 400 yards from the sea, I also have the obligatory 1966 Beach Buggy. Evening chip runs are done via Motorcycle, as yes, I`m a keen biker as well !
Thats enough blurb about me, but what would be nice is for some of you to reply to this with a little about yourself so that I know who you are also - Apologies moderators if there are other places to put this, but for obvious reasons, I only ever monitor the ICE section
