help, my Omega always starts on the button 170,000 miles but this morning it would not start, it turns and turns I squirt some easy start down the air pipe and she will start but stop as soon as the easy start is burnt so the ignition looks ok so it looks like fuel. The AA man turned up this morning and said yes the electric pump isn't running but we can't find the pump relay or fuse. Can anyone help ?, this is an Estate so the fuel tank is different.

And what does paperclip test say - there may be a good reason why ECU does not what to run fuel pump...

Is there an aftermarket alarm / immobiliser fitted?

If so, check that out first ? If not, back to the experts on here

Had similiar problem with my estate no power to the pump fuse, traced outlet from relay this was live, according to haynes wiring diagram should feed straight to fuse but wasn't so as a last resort decided to jump a feed to fuse just to get it running. I linked a live supply to pump fuse started the car and then found when I disconnected the link the fuse was still live. never had a problem since. wondered whether there was some type of pressure switch killing the supply.

Having a similar problem myself at the moment, no fuel getting to engine but fuse 18 intact. Havn't checked out fuel pump relay(K44) or injector relay(K43) yet, thats relays 10 and 20 under the bonnet next to the battery. Just like Ballcock, I thought there would be an Emergency cut off valve somewhere along with an emergency cut off reset button but havn't come up with any evidence of this. My paper clip test came up with fault code 57, that's idle air control voltage low and 31 no RPM signal. But as the car was doing 30 mph on a main road, at the time of instant engine dying then I don't think these are relavent. My engine turns over quite normal with a strong battery but not a cough!

Majic on a v6 your problem is more than likely crank shaft sensor...

On a 2.0 I believe cam sensor is possibly the most likely cause of turnover with non start...but could be crankshafter sensor too...

the 2.0 will still run ok with a cam sensor gone - mine ran a bit underpowered when mine went along with the lambda!

2.0 should run without a crank sensor or without a cam sensor, but is often a real pig to start

had same problem on  my 2.0 l crank shaft sensor , i know this because took in to local auto lectritions(t****r) after new fuel pump ,relay and crank shaft sensor yes there are diferent types for the 2.0l 16v.
so theres your problem as crankshat sensor tells ecu the eng turning so needs fuel sensor kaput ecu thinks eng stoped so turns off fule pump via relay .
