Vauxhall standard radio/cd fitment
« on: 19 November 2008, 19:06:35 »

Hi, I have got a standard CDR500 in my P reg Omega 2.0GLS. When I turn it on the radio display says "SAFE". My handbook tells me that this happens when someone tries to input an incorrect code 10 times. The radio is locked and needs the attention of a vauxhall dealer. I can well imagine how much they will want to do the job. My question is, does anyone know of a way to do it myself? cheers. :)

The word SAFE without a number to the left of it means that you are attempting to enter a code in the wrong sequence or your ignition is not on.

Code Entry as Follows:
Turn Off Stereo
Switch On Ignition (No Need To Start Engine)
Press & Hold Preset " AS " and
Switch Radio On - Display Shows
" SAFE " And Then Shows " 10 - - - - "
Press preset " 1 " repeatedly for 1st Digit
Press preset " 2 " repeatedly for 2nd Digit
Press preset " 3 " repeatedly for 3rd Digit
Press preset " 4 " repeatedly for 4th Digit
If the correct code number is now shown
Press & Hold Preset " AS " Until the Unit Beeps

Should the code you have be incorrect, give me a yell
