Cd safe Code problem
« on: 04 December 2008, 22:13:39 »

Hi all,

New to this forum so please be gentle  ;)

Have a question that seems to have been be asked before in the past but just wanted to get some clarification on the best way forward and to see if I can get my problem sorted out in my local area.

I have a CCR2006 unit and the radio and cassette work fine but the  CD is displaying safe mode. Have taken the car to the main dealer who cannot rectify the problem and wants to charge 250 quid plus to sort it out. I realise that there have been software issues with this model but is there any way of someone rectifying the code issue?.

I am in Suffolk, does anyone know of anyone/companies that can help and if so an estimation of the costs?

Thanking you kindly in antisipation. :)

You need code for CD - have you got car pass - its on there.  Stealers having a laugh @ £250 ;D ;D

Try posting this in ICE and Omega Electrical section - Dave DND lurks in there and sure he will be able to sort you for a fraction of that!! :y

Welcome to the forum

You would be better off posting this in Ice and Electrical

I thought the CCR 2006 only had one code  :-/

Hi alexandjen,

Thanks for the welcome,

It does indeed have one code for radio, cass and cd but for some reason the cd says "safe mode'. I have tried everything and even those "wonderfully trained Vauxhall engineers"  ::) are scratching their collective butt cheeks and just say it needs to be replaced >:(

I do not accept that, as it is easier for them to say but not for me to do!!! I know it is a software clitch but just need to get in contact with someone that knows a bit more than Vauxhall, which I am sure I will.

My ears were burning - talking about me ?

Yes, the CDC-SAFE problem is a common software fault of teh CCR2006 and certainly one that can be repaired by following this link to my website

http://ice.dndservices.co.uk/shop_show_item.php/ST/2006/ISS/20/IID/587/PAGE/shop_search_index.php

Any problems, give me a yell
