what would make my display go dim after changing the bulbs,in daylight you cant see it at all,in the dark you can,when i changed the bulbs and plugged it back in,it made a sound like a fuse blowing and thats when it went dim,like its on reduced power,any suggestions?

Take the instrument panel out and re-check bulbs then re-seat it firmly :)

knocked the brightness dial near the headlight switch? are the button lights dark aswell?

everything else in the dash is bright,just the display

blown one of the bulbs in display? or its not making great connection?

I'm assuming you have put proper bulbs in - those gay blue LEDs favoured by certain members, well, they will never work well in the display.

that said, i don't watch trash like road wars - i'm convinced that programme is made to make all coppers look like arseholes

i dont watch it a lot,just a couple of times,and i noticed a couple of them had green displays
