No sound out of Elite Bose and aftermarket HU
« on: 23 February 2009, 10:04:51 »

A friend at work has got a 2001 Elite estate with all the Bose amp and stuff but it has an aftermarket HU. It's all connected with no connectors left dangling at the back of the HU and adaptors are connected ok.

However there is no sound out of it even though the HU lights up and spins CDs ok.

I have suggested he look at the fuse on the amp but is there anything else that might be the cause?

Thanks

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

The Bose stuff will never be that great with aftermarket HU - all the levels are wrong.

Either stick entirely to bose (HU, amp, Speakers) or entirely aftermarket (HU, speakers, possibly external amp if required).
