heated seat switches

are the front and rear switches the same (interchangeable) as they have a different colour backing? :-/

they can't be, the fronts are on/off where as the rears are momentary push on ie they only switch on when pressed & open again when you release them. The rear seats work via relays.

Yes. click on .... click off
back are only closed/on while you're pressing them as there's a relay between the switch & seat. The fronts don't have a relay. (meaning your wife & daughter can will leave them on every single time they use them :-X)

That the rear switches are momentary push?
The fact that you can hear a relay click when you press the switch and when you turn the ignition off, the rear seats turn off too suggest that they are.  :y

i thought you we,re on about the daugther i dont have! i'm just pulling apart a rear heated seat switch to see if i can get back light working thats why i wondered if the front were the same but answered my own question anyway

thats it all done swaped bulbs from a spare switch and it works, infact i've sorted the lot everything lights as it should do, tick that of my list :y
