Has the Radio been fed from the Ing. sense rather than the battery (aftermarket I assume)?

You can alter that  :y  .... somewhere  :-/

My CCRT700 has SDVC, (speed dependant volume control?) goes from 0 to 5
Audio menu (on mine) is via the musical note. :y

But in the absense of anything usefull like a Model number of radio fitted, I was keeping quite until I could reply with something usefull.

Some (but not all) SC804 units will have a menu in which you can select the appropriate level of speed controlled Volume (SCV) some head units also call it GALA.  Select from the levels of 0-5 until you find the one that suits you best. If you have one of the head units without the optional menu, then the best thing to do is pull out the head unit and to cut the wire on the lower ISO block at the back that is labelled up as SCV, remembering to tape up any bare ends.

This will then allow the stero to funtion purely on the volume knob on the front.

if its a CCRT700 then it might be buggered internal memory faults cause these errors

or the memory 12v feed has fell out but i doubt this unless you have had the radio out??

Yes, if its a CCRT700 then the likely cause of your problem is the main eeprom failure with parts of the internal memory failing to retain factory settings.

Common problems are also the inability to retain radio stations as well.

Sorry, not somethig we can assist in the repair of due to lack of spares now.
